The Challenge
The Solution
At the American Heritage School, located in Plantation, Florida, students used a SpectraMax® M5e to conduct scientific research during their first Annual Summer Science Program. The microplate reader made it possible for the students to perform higher level research using GFP-labeled C. elegans, and Alcanivorax borkumensis. Additionally, they ran assays Using the multi-mode microplate reader provided the students with the ability to compete and win at both school and county level science competitions as well as qualify for state competition. Students presented their findings at the Florida Junior Academy of Sciences and the Junior Science Engineering and Humanities Symposium.
